Materials:
v L (8mm) crochet hook or hook recommended for yarn
v Caron Sprinkles Cakes, color way Birthday cake (1487 + yards) or any yarn you like yarn substitution suggestions at the bottom of this post
v Scissors
v Yarn/wool needle
v Measuring tape
Abbreviations:
v ch = chain
v hdcBLO = half double crochet back loop only v st = stitch
Gauge Pattern using super bulky and L hook:
Ch 11
Row 1. hdc into 3rd ch from hook and each ch, ch 2 turn (9sts) Row 2-5. hdcBLO into each st, ch 2 turn(9sts) About 4×4”
Special Notes:
The lighter the yarn the more rows and chains you will have to make
ch 2 turning ch of row does NOT count as a st.
If you feel like using a different yarn and hook this pattern will still work! ü My blanket using recommended yarn is 65×50 inches 140 chains, 138 stitches, 63 rows.
To Begin:
We are making a rectangle. You will chain as long as you want your rectangle and then make as many rows as needed to make the width of the rectangle.
Chain 140 or desired length
Row 1. hdc into 3rd ch from hook and each ch across. ch 2, turn (138st *if started with 140ch)
Row 2. hdcBLO into each st, ch 2 turn (138st)
Row 3-63. or more repeat Row 2
If you need more visual on this pattern, please see my tutorial.
For blanket fringe: Wrap yarn around a book or piece of card board that is about 6” wide, cut one end to make short 12” pieces of yarn. Fold in half to make a loop. Thread through row ends, pass tails through loop and pull tight. (please see tutorial for visual)
Add as many as you like to finish your blanket.
I hope you love making The Easiest Blanket Ever. If you are having trouble, please watch my YouTube tutorial or I would be happy to help, just message me where you purchased this pattern. Thank you for choosing my pattern.
