The Basics Infinity Scarf -FREE Pattern-

This pattern only uses the basic half double crochet stitch, but because of how we use this stitch, it comes out really smooth looking. Not your typical crochet texture.

If you are having trouble with getting your scarf to come out straight remember to count your stitches. If you still are having trouble it is probably your tension. Tension is a tricky this and can even be affected by our moods. Just pull out own your work and keep practicing!

The Basics Infinity Scarf

Abbreviations:

st = stitch
ch = chain
hdc = half double crochet

Materials:

  • Super bulky (6) yarn. 2 caron sprinkle cakes 386yrds/454g
  • L (8.00MM) crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Measuring tape

Gauge Pattern: Ch 10

Row 1. hdc into 3rd ch from hook and each ch, ch 2 turn (8sts)

Row 2-7. hdc into space between each st, ch 2 turn(8sts) About 4×4”

Be sure to check your gauge!

NOTES:

  • Turning chain does NOT count as a stich.
  • All stitches will be made into the spaces between the stitches NOT into the top of thestitch.
  • Last stitch will go into space between the turning ch and the last hdc st of previous row

To Begin: Make a slip knot, ch 16

Row 1. hdc into 3rd chain from hook and each chain across. ch 2, turn (14sts) DO NOT COUNT turning chain as a stitch.

Row 2. hdc into each space between sts of previous round across, place last st into space between the last st, and turning chain of previous row. ch 2, turn (14sts)

Repeat Row 2 until your scarf is between 62” and 64” or until desired length. This scarf is about 7” wide, chain more at beginning for a wider scarf.

FINISH: fold scarf flat. Sew or slip stitch ends together.

To make your scarf in other yarns, simply chain until desired width of scarf.(7”+/-) Then follow directions above. Yardage and grams will differ with other yarns.
