The Fluffy Meringue Blanket

Hello There!

The Fluffy Meringue Blanket is defiantly one of the MOST beautiful blankets I have ever crochet thus far!

Though I found this pattern a little time consuming with all of the picots, (YES! the fluffy-ness is all done with millions of picots) the end results are worth while. The repeats them selves are quite easy though. Four of the rows repeat. 9, 10, 11 & 12. In my video tutorial I will teach you these so you can make this blanket no problem!

One of the many things I love about this blanket is that it is fluffy on the top side and smooth on the other. You could place a fabric back on it if you wanted! Here is a photo of the back side of mine~

Smooth right?

Yarn.

For my Blanket I used sport weight wool yarn I bought on eBay. I am still working on making the blanket bigger but I am currently at 304g total yarn ussage. The colors are hand dyed and a friend of mine, Emily helped me pick the colors. You can visit her Instagram page. She does herbs.

I used the crochet hook size 3.50mm. It worked so beautifully for me and this yarn! Make sure to check out the hook set I used. They are my FAVORITE! and reduce hand/wrist strain.

Changing colors

If you are interested in changing colors like I did, make sure to switch colors after the framework rounds. Example rows 5 and 9. If you do not, you will have this look~ Not the best if you ask me.

See how the gray pokes through with the back post double crochet?

Size.

For my blanket I am shooting for 30 x 30 inches, or so. I will be posting progress photos to my Instagram if you want to watch.  This is a small baby blanket size. I think if you have it in you for millions of picots than this blanket could be made in any size! King?

Well that is all I can think of for now! If you have any questions or comments please leave a comment on this post. I read them all and answer as many as I can.

Have a lovely crochet day.

Much love,

Jonna
