I made this collar using the Nostalgie pattern by drops design, a 3.00 mm crochet hook, 50g of 100% wool DK yarn, scissors, yarn needle and a polka dot button.
The pattern does call for cotton DK. I will try it with that next time. I just didn’t have any on hand.
I think the wool worked out great. It is very soft and has good weight.
I did do a video tutorial on this collar so here it is~
And in the tutorial I promised a photo explanation of how I blocked my collar.
I went super basic, you can do it another way you please. I was very happy with how mine turned out though.
Step 1.
I started with tap water in my plant sprayer~
Step 2.
Water the plants……. Ummmm…. wait thats not right!
Step 2. (try this again)
Lay out the collar on a flat surface that is ok to get wet. (like bathroom counter)
Step 3.
Then spray the collar, but not soak it until dripping, just wet.
Step 4.
Press and pull flat with your hands.
Now this step can also be done on a blocking board and using pins you pull, pin flat and then dry.
Do this all around the work.
Step 5. Let dry.
Mine flattened out nicely then I let it dry. You can also put it on a hanger to dry. (Worked both ways for me.)
And That is that! Ready to wear!
Thank you for visiting my blog and reading this post.
Have a lovely crochet day!
