I have been thinking up this pattern ever since I first crochet the Seashell HAT
It is is finally on paper and ready to be crochet by all!

The gorgeous shell stitches and the ribbing give a genuine look of a seashell washed ashore.

Seashell Crochet Cowl & Ear-Warmer

Materials:
⦁ H 5.00MM crochet hook
⦁ Red Heart super saver or Red Heart with Love about 250yds
⦁ Yarn needle for weaving in ends
⦁ Scissors
Soft lambs wool would be amazing to try this pattern with!
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
DC = Double crochet
st = stitch
fpdc = front post double crochet
* repeat text between stars *
Gauge:
5 rows of 10 DC = 4×4 inches
To begin the Cowl~
This pattern can be made two sizes. The Lady or the Missy.
The Lady is 26″ around ~ Chain 80
The Missy is 22″ around ~ Chain 68
They can be made as tall as you like. The one pictured is 6.5 inches.
Chain and Base Row
Chain desired size, sl st to join and form a ring, ch 1 sc into each st, sl st to join (80sc,68sc)
Row 1. Chain 3 (this counts as 1st DC) *4 DC into the next st, skip 2 st, DC into next st* repeat around. (Lady=100st, Missy=85st)
Row 2. Ch 1, fpdc into ch 3 of the first row, 4 DC into the space before the shell ( the 4DC set of the first row), see photo, skip 4 DC * fpdc the single DC, 4 DC into the space before shell of the previous row, skip 4 dc* *repeat around, sl st to join.
Row 3-12. Ch 1, *fpdc the fpdc, 4 DC into the space before shell of the previous row, skip 4 dc, * *repeat around and this row intil desired legnth, 6-8 inches suggested. sl st to join at the end of each row. (20 shells Lady-17shells Missy)
Finishing Row: This row pulls together your new cowl and is super quick.
Ch 1, sc into the same st, sc into the next st, *skip 1 st, sc into the next 4 st, skip 1 st* Repeat around, lastly skiping the last st and sc into the remaining two stitches and sl st to join. Weave in ends. Show off your lovely work. ( 80sc Lady, 68sc Missy)
And now for the Ear-warmer.
This ear- warmer is just my favorite! I wear it out almost every day. 🙂
To begin the Ear- Warmer
21-22 inches around. 2 3/4 inches wide. Average adult head.
Chain and Base Row.
Ch 60, sl st to form a ring, ch 1 sc into each ch. (60sc)
Row 1. Chain 3 (this counts as 1st DC) *4 DC into the next st, skip 2 st, DC into next st* repeat around.
Row 2. Ch 1, fpdc into ch 3 of the first row, 4 DC into the space before the shell ( the 4DC set of the first row), see photo, skip 4 DC * fpdc the single DC, 4 DC into the space before shell of the previous row, skip 4 dc* *repeat around, sl st to join.
Row 3 & 4. Ch 1, *fpdc the fpdc, 4 DC into the space before shell of the previous row, skip 4 dc, * *repeat around. sl st to join at the end of each row.
Finishing Row: This row pulls together your new ear-warmer and is super quick.
Ch 1, sc into the same st, sc into the next st, *skip 1 st, sc into the next 4 st, skip 1 st* Repeat around, lastly skiping the last st and sc into the remaining two stitches and sl st to join.
Weave in ends.
