– Please check your gauge for better sizing adjust hook or yarn to obtain gauge.

Gauge pattern: ch 13, Row 1. hdc into 2nd ch from hook and each remaining ch. ch 1, turn (12hdc) Row 2-8. hdc into each st, ch 1, turn (12hdc) 4”x4”

I have tried multiple times to make your easiest worsted hat and I cannot get the 37 stitches consistently across. I am obviously not doing something right. Usually I end up with 64-65 stitches. I am probably loosing at the end or beginning. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thank you!

      Hello Ann,
You are probably placing more than once stitch into each stitch an or placing stitches into the turning chain. Grab yourself a stitch marker (bobby pin, paper clip, contrasting section of yarn) and place it into the top of the turning chain. Then count each stitch across as you make them. Thank you for the visit, I hope this helps. ~Jonna

I am having a problem getting the guage to work for me. I have increased hook size to 6.0 and now the width of the touque is right on at 4″ BUT the length or hight of the touque sample is only 3 3/4″. What am I doing wrong? Should I just add more rows to bring the bottom to top (Pom pom area ) when finished to make up the difference? What am I doing wrong?

Everyone crochets differently, The gauge does not have to be exact for this pattern. 4 and 3 3/4th is fine. Continue making your hat.
