The Beautiful Shells Shawl

I have been wanting to crochet this shawl for a long time. I finally figured out what colors I wanted to go with and the yarn. So I worked it up and also filmed a tutorial if you would like to follow along!

This shawl is very fun and easy. It “grows” all by itself so no need to worry about increasing. It only has 2 repeating rows so watching TV or taking this on the go is simple.

The two rows are the V Stitch row and the Shell row. I try to keep using this lingo in my video too so you can keep track more easily.

The pattern is a free chart pattern by MyPicot. You can find it HERE for yourself.

I used 3 yarn colors: Aran, Warm Brown and Chocolate. All worsted weight acrylic yarn by Red Heart. Now because I used skein bits of left over yarn I don not have the exact amount of yarn I used on each color. But I did weigh the shawl and came up with 546g, and my calculations say that it is 1021 yards of Red heart super saver yarn.

Aren’t my scissors pretty? I love them, and I think how pretty they are every time I pull them out. It makes weaving in ends more fun for sure!

The H.5.00mm crochet hook worked well for me, and didn’t take very long. I am sure any yarn and hook combo would work well for this pattern. I can imagine this yarn in Unforgettable yarn, or Caron cake yarn, or maybe even a baby weight yarn for a light weight summer shawl. Make sure to tag me on Instagram if you make one! I love to see your work.

Now if you would rather make a blanket you can do that, I have a few videos on blanket styles so thank you for watching!

Can you tell me how much yarn you used of each color?

    Thank you!

Hello Christine! I used scrap skeins that I had so I honestly have no idea. But I do know that I used a total of 1021 yards or 546g. Thank you for the visit!
